Building Effective Campaigns for Refugees

Passionate and determined advocate of community action for justice, in particular in asylum cases, Frances is paying a special visit to the Star and Shadow and will share her experience and views on how people have engaged and empowered self-help and community action to support people in the asylum system.
Frances Webber was a barrister specialising in immigration, asylum and human rights until her retirement in 2008. She is vice-chair of the Institute of Race Relations, with which she has been associated since 1969, and is the author of Borderline Justice: the fight for refugee and migrant rights.

We will also be joined by a member of the Unity Centre Glasgow, who will
discuss perspectives from Unity's experience. The Unity Centre provides
