1965 Italian spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Gian Maria Volontè. German actor Klaus Kinski (star of many a Werner Herzog movie) also plays a supporting role as a secondary villain.

Two bounty hunters with completely different intentions team up to track down a Western outlaw. Screenwriter Luciano Vincenzoni was brought in to write the script which he wrote in nine days.

FILM FACTS

For the role Eastwood was given $50,000 in advance and a first-class plane ticket but was apparently not looking forward to having the cigar in his mouth again which had made him feel sick during the first film (A Fistful of Dollars)!

For a Few Dollars More was shot in the spring and summer of 1965 and interiors of the film were shot at the Cinecittà studio in Rome before they moved to Spain. The production designer, Carlo Simi built the town of "El Paso" in the Almeria desert which still exists as a tourist attraction.

He was asked to make this film, the sequel to A Fistful of Dollars before he had even seen the completed first film, even though it was enjoying success at the Italian box office. So they swiftly sent out an Italian version for him to watch with his friends, despite an English version not being ready. He wasn't sure what to expect and downplayed the film beforehand, though of course the style of the film spoke volumes and Clint has said  "Everybody enjoyed it just as much as if it had been in English".

NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE

Is it true that Clint Eastwood gets Newcastle Brown Ale shipped over to the USA?!

Taken from his visit to Oxford university.... and then came the strangest question; was it true that he had a soft spot for Newcastle Brown Ale? Eastwood replied: "My experience of Newcastle Brown is when I went to Newcastle and everybody told me the beer might make me go blind. It sounded a bit drastic but I tried a few and they were good. I didn't have a hangover. I didn't try that much.''

Reports from a celebrity website... (it must be true!)
