About…

Life is as hard as their music for the only metal band in Iraq, Acrassicauda.

They are normal guys who just want to play metal, but dictatorship, war, occupation, insurrections, bombings and exile make it a struggle just to practice, let alone play. What ever your music tastes their determination is enthralling.

Part of the official selection of the Berlin international Film festival, and the Toronto Film Festival.

The film was produced by Spike Jonze, director of the aclaimed Being John Malkovich (1999) and Adaptation (2002).

"Vital and enlightening" - Esquire

“Both a stirring testament to the plight of cultural expression in Baghdad and a striking report on the refugee scene in Syria, this rock-doc like no other electrifies its genre and redefines headbanging as an act of hard-core courage.” - New York Times
