Alasdair Roberts plays New Weird Folk night

On Saturday, September 6 at 7:30pm, alt-folk legend Alasdair Roberts appears at the Star and Shadow as part of a great line up that includes Nathalie Stern, Emily Portman and Rubus, and Bridie Jackson.

WOODY ALLEN MOVIES!

During September, we pay homage to one of cinema's most prolific creators, Woody Allen. He’s written and directed a film every year since 1969 and, if you’re a fan, each one is an exciting, albeit nerve racking, prospect of anticipation.

STOP! SUMMERTIME!

The Star and Shadow will be closed during August. Fear not though, cinema goers, we'll be back with a vengence come September.

Star and Shadow hit the small screen

We were on the telly, thanks to the Maximo Park boys choosing us as one of their favourite North East places for the Transmission programme on Channel 4.
