A celebration of Oklahoma alt-rock band The Flaming Lips, beginning with a special screening of the 2005 film, 'The Fearless Freaks' directed by Bradley Beesley who started his filmmaking career working with the band. The documentary tracks Wayne Coyne and co. from psychedelic punk roots to internationally renowned band and features cameos from a whole host of luminaries, including Beck, Jack & Meg White, Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis.
Screening simultaneously in the cinema and bar (arrive early - 7pm doors for a seat in the cinema - screening begins 7.30 prompt), the film will be followed by a short live set in the bar from a band who have been inspired by The Flaming Lips - THE FUTUREHEADS.
Plus DJ action from Daz Hubbard (Distraction Records) and Chris Trew (Prancey Dog), who are compiling set lists for the night to include lots of Flaming Lips plus those who inspired the band/have been inspired by them.
