'Saint Society' discussion with artist Louwrien Wijers on economic reform, art and a compassionate economy. Join us to listen in or contribute to the conversation.

Festival of the Not is proud to present artist Louwrien Wijers for the first time to an audience in the UK. This talk will focus upon Wijers' astounding practice to date.

Wijers worked closely with Joseph Beuys through the 1970s - 80s which informs her current work - she uses 'conversation as sculpture' bringing people together to discuss the world's most pressing issues.

In 1990 she organised of the discussion series Art Meets Science and Spirituality in a Changing Economy (1990) which featured notable speakers Robert Rauschenberg, John Cage, Dalai Lama, David Bohm, Stanislav Menshikov and many more.

Celebrating three milestones – the completion of Giles Bailey & CIRCA Projects, CIRCA Projects’ 10th anniversary and ‘Art’s Birthday’ (FLUXUS artist Robert Filliou proclaimed this fell on 17th January each year) – Festival of the Not at the Star and Shadow Cinema, presents four days of sound, performance and visual experiments for you to view, participate in, discuss and share together with us.

Festival of the Not features daytime artist-led workshops alongside nights of unexpected and memorable lineups of music, film, performance and poetry.
