Beautiful, Poetic, Dreamy

The Red Balloon (1956, 34 min)

Enchanting little dream of 34 minutes, that tells the story of a boy and his sentiant, mute balloon. Set in Paris, the film includes beautiful images of the city.

The film won numerous prizes, including the Oscar for best Original Screenplay.

White Mane (1953, 47 min)

Winner of the very prestigious Palme D'Or at the International Cannes Film Festival, this film is an esthetically gorgeous film about a boy and a horse.

Despite the concept sounding very easy and commercial (friendship between a child and an animal), this film avoids all patronising sentimentality to live space only for raw beauty. Filmed in the beautiful French region of the Camargues, this film is totally unique.

These films are rare and pretty magic, we would advise you not to miss them. Shown on beautiful 35mm prints.
