The second funniest film ever made! The crown jewel of team Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker's ZAZ-comedies takes you to the wildest flight ever made! The writing, delivery, Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges and overall surreal craziness just takes over; A true work of genius! This Cpt. Oveur Over.

‘Airplane!’ is the movie that brought the Zucker Brothers and Jim Abrahams into the mainstream of American cinema, introducing their surreal take on classic film to millions.

When food poisoning strikes on an airliner, disturbed ex-pilot Ted Striker (Robert Hayes) must face his demons to bring down the plane safely. And hilariously.

From the outset, Airplane! takes no prisoners – any movie, big or small, from Jaws to Flight Into Danger, is fair game to the Zucker / Abrahams team, and they are clearly lovers of the films they parody.

The gags come thick and fast, ranging from deceptively simple wordplay to fantastic visual comedy, and the cast plays it with a pitch-perfect lack of irony. In fact, the casting of disaster movie legends alongside more bizarre choices (Kareem Abdul Jabbar?) lends the movie an added layer of hilarity.
