CLUB NIGHT - AFTER MAXIMO PARK PERFORMANCE

This time we’ll be starting right after Maximo Park perform a live score for the silent classic The Man Who Laughs by Paul Leni, as the official after party for the Northern Lights Film Festival, and going on till 4am, so be sure to stick around for a wind down. Or, if you don’t fancy the film you can just come to the party.

DJ P. SKILLZ

For this next night we’re delighted to announce a special guest spot for DJ P. Skillz who plays a mouth-watering collection of rare dreamy disco.

P.Skillz started DJing in 1993 and quickly secured several residencies at different nights in Birmingham. He moved to the North East in 1996 and since then has DJed all over the place from the Kitchen Club in Dublin to the Lava Lounge in Chicago. In 1998 he teamed up with DJ Maroon & held residencies at Turbulence & Force in Newcastle playing on four turntables as well as being DJ for UK Hip Hop act Natural Gift. He has DJed alongside people such as Kool Herc, Andy Smith of Portishead, Al Kent, Scratch Perverts, A-Track, DJ Noize, as well as opening up for artists such as Roots Manuva & Mark B & Blade & has competed in national DJ battles such as DMC & ITF.

P. Skillz has recently come back from playing several dates in Chicago alongside people such as Rahaan & Sean Sounds who runs Bring The Heat which is one of the best websites for hearing underground disco DJ's. He also puts on his own night Rare Funkshun infrequently, the last one featured Al Kent (Million Dollar Orchestra, BBE records) & Boogienite (Chuck Bros, Chicago).

Playing mainly music from the 70's & 80's, expect to hear a set featuring exclusive edits & less know music from deep disco, afro funk, gospel, boogie & modern soul.
