Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce return to the Star and Shadow this Christmas in this their second cinematic outing as Holmes and Watson.
In a foggy Victorian London the pair face the machinations of Professor Moriarty who, newly acquitted on a murder charge, does what any self-respecting super villain would do and hatches a wildly overcomplicated scheme to ... well that would be telling. Meanwhile Holmes and Watson are visited in Baker Street by Ann Brandon (Ida Lapino) whose brother has received a strange note: a drawing of a man with an albatross hanging around his neck - a drawing identical to one received by her father just before his brutal murder ten years before.
Could these two plot threads possibly be connected? The answer is elementary.
