Come for the launch of the first in a series of Friday night screenings celebrating the wonder and horrors of computer-generated imagery!

Tonight we remember how hard it was to make movies before computers by watching the 2005 remake of the 1933 film King Kong. This Peter Jackson epic won an Academy Award for visual effects and stands a good chance of being released in 3D any day now.

With a great cast including Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrien Brody, and criticized by some for too obvious a use of CGI, which is exactly what we're after, King Kong should be a perfect way to while away a dark January evening.

Future CGI Fridays will also feature short films by contemporary visual artists, curated by Sarah Cook.
