Star & Shadow are pleased to screen 'From Below', a documentary film showcasing mutual aid and grassroots community action that helped feed and comfort the vulnerable during the covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, including Food & Solidarity based in Newcastle's West-End.

The film focuses on specific towns and cities across England, including Newcastle, and speaks to how community action can be supported in order to help people in future crises, both of the climate and of the economy.

The film will be followed by a Q&A and discussion session with the academic researchers, film-makers and the amazing volunteers and mutual aid organisers that feature in the film.
