Now in its third year, Terror on Tyne returns to the Star & Shadow Cinema, bringing you the very best in horror short films.

Terror on Tyne is the North East’s only dedicated horror short film festival. Run by horror filmmakers and fans, the festival puts both creators and audiences at the heart of the experience, showcasing the best local, national and international horror shorts.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Best Horror Short

• Best Horror Comedy

• Best Micro Short

• Best First-Time or Student Film

• Best North East Film

This year, we’re also thrilled to welcome film director Clive Tonge, who will join us for a special Q&A. Clive will be talking about his 2018 feature film Mara, his journey from the North East to making a horror film in Hollywood with Olga Kurylenko, advice for filmmakers, and much more.

We’re also delighted to announce that horror actress and scream queen Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey) has joined our judging team. Amber will also be sending a special video message to everyone at the festival, along with an award for her own personal favourite film

Screening 24 short films from first-time filmmakers to international talent, Terror on Tyne is a night dedicated to celebrating the very best of independent horror.
