Welcoming the spring quarter with a Bollywood film.

The directorial debut of Ritesh Batra, was nominated for a BAFTA and won 29 awards the world over. The Lunchbox builds on the story of a mistaken delivery in Mumbai's famously efficient lunchbox delivery system (Dabbawallas) connecting a young housewife to an older man in the dusk of his life. This endearing connection gets them building a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox.

The Lunchbox mixes food and romance in a very appealing combination. Impeccably acted and beautifully realized, the film provides an honest appreciation of what it is like to live in Mumbai without exploiting its poverty for Western audiences. The film is a subtle masterpiece in storytelling, expressing loneliness, longing and love all at the same time.

Indian snacks and drinks will be served before the film.
